ISSUE 01 - 10FT DREAMS

During the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I embarked on a creative endeavor for Best Kept Secret's inaugural zine. Issue #1 delves into Filipino American identity through the lens of streetwear and basketball, featuring interviews with Dustin Canalin and Carlo Rabadam. To adapt to the circumstances, I opted for a distinctive approach: mailing disposable cameras to our subjects. This tactile method aimed to capture genuine moments, providing a tangible connection in an increasingly digital world. The resulting visuals were thoughtfully curated and complemented by their insightful interviews, culminating in a printed zine that authentically represents the vibrant spirit of Filipino American culture. This project commemorates a century-long passion for basketball in the Philippines and underscores its deep connection with the essence of streetwear in our collective identity.
